Hello Creek Run Tribe!
Hello parents and campers! Welcome to the fifth edition of the 2019 on-line Trail Talk, Camp Creek Run's summer camp newsletter. We had a fun-filled week and we hope you did too!
On a week like this one, Camp Creek Run is fortunate to have a talented and thoughtful Arts and Crafts supervisor like Judi! She leads lessons with our Lower Campers in the morning and helps our Upper Campers in the afternoon. The art pad is a breezeway for self expression and Judi keeps it all together! Katie has been doing great things in the afternoons with clay. There are some pretty cool and peculiar ceramics being constructed by the kids and Katie has been there to help them through the hand building to the glazing. Great work!
It's getting to the point that we are running out of bug jars for finding interesting crawly things. Keara is always hard at work trying to classify the endless critters that our young environmentalists bring up each day. They especially love to hear Keara say, "that's a new one!" We at CCR hope that campers experiences here are allowing their eyes to look past all the ordinary things around them. We want them to look further and closer. What a great time for them to be outdoors!
Who was that Masked Camper?!
The Masquerade Ball is not just about making costumes from paper, cardboard, plastic, and other found objects. It's about working together. It's about imagining something bigger than themselves. It's about having fun! All week the villages cut, tore, taped, colored, and pasted multiple mediums to arrive at a unique costume. Some of the kids were in groups and some were a singular idea. The tribe came together in a dance party led by Adam. The villages paraded past the tribe and the lifeguards strutting their creative and wacky works of art. Great job staff for all the hard work and enthusiasm!
