Week Seven- 2018

August 14, 2018

Hello Creek Run Tribe!

Hello parents and campers! Welcome to the seventh edition of the 2018 on-line Trail Talk, Camp Creek Run's summer camp newsletter. We had a fun-filled week and we hope you did too!

Can You Dig It?

Camp Creek Run  lower campers had a mini fossil dig this week. Led by Amber and Helena, the campers got to feel what it's like to discover often tiny fossils that can be found in stream beds. Each kid had a chart to categorize their findings. Remember, Camp Creek Run has many environmental programs during the school year. Check out our website for more info!

Tending the Garden!

Dani is our resident Master Gardener and invites all of our campers into Dolittle Farm to help water and tend to our fabulous vegetable and pollinator gardens. This summer we have an abundance of tomatoes, squash, peppers, and many other herbs. Of course, the goats like to come out of their pen and weed a little to lend a hand.

Wait a Minute!

Every Friday during snack, staff and campers join in on wacky "minute to win it" competitions. Adam runs the activities and everyone gathers around to see some entertaining acts of athleticism. This week is a true favorite. The Oreo challenge asks individuals to move the cookie from the forehead to the mouth without touching it with your hands. Well the pictures speak for themselves on how difficult it can be to complete the task. Great fun!

Game On!

Carnival Week is easily the most anticipated week on the CCR calendar. Not only did everyone get to experience the Bouncy house at the archery field, the villages created games for campers to play and win prizes. There was face painting, water ice, and music as the camp was transformed into a carnival ground. The kids had a great time with the creative games that were created and everyone wished they could play all day. Great job staff!
