Hello Creek Run Tribe!
Hello parents and campers! Welcome to the sixth edition of the 2007 on-line
Trail Talk,
Camp Creek Run's newsletter.
I'm Free to Do What I Want!
The chicks have hatched! The chicks have hatched!! Everyone was so excited at our new arrivals at Creek Run this week. The campers all did a great job caring for the eggs, carefully turning them, and making sure the temperature in the incubator was just right, that all twelve eggs hatched in the EcoCenter! Many campers got a chance to hold a chick for the first time, and everyone had fun watching the little guys learn to find food and water. We hope that experiences like these that teach children responsibility for even the smallest things in nature will stay with our campers for the rest of their lives.
Take a Dip!The pools are so much a part of our week that sometimes we forget how fortunate we are to have them. Howie and the lifguards are doing an amazing job and we are thankful for their watchfulness and thoughtfulness! We have the most beautiful and safe pools anywhere. Keep up the great work guys!
Test! One! Two!Creek Run has begun what we hope will be a long tradition for years to come. We like to call it Open Mic Wednesdays! During snack time all campers and counselors are invited to step up to the microphone and show off their talent. Kevin has taken the lead and brought our first acts together. The guitar playing, drums, and singing were great and we can't wait to see what will come next! Thank you Tom, Kevin, Adam W. and Jakob for your awesome performances.
America's Most Talented!
Barry Moore was back this week leading our Drama Camp for Lower Camp. The "Creek Run Players" put on a lively version of "Where The Wild Things Are." This week was also our Talent Show! Our very own musical instructor extraodinaire, Katie, put together a memorable show. Campers from all over the Tribe participated and wowed the crowd with their skills. The whole week was filled with music and we appreciate everyone's eagerness to be involved.
Spirit!
Kittatiny and their talented counselors Carolyn, Alicia, and Junior Counselor Aliyah were asked to represent the spirit of camp for the sixth week by holding the coveted Spirit Stick. This has to be our best group of Kits ever! Never have so many done so much with such little feet -- the Kitts did a great cheer for the camp on Friday. But the awesome Kitts do a wonderful job every day representing the spirit of the camp. Thank you Kittatiny counselors for bringing out the best in our youngest!
