Hello Creek Run Tribe!
Hello parents and campers! Welcome to the fifth edition of the 2007 on-line
Trail Talk,
Camp Creek Run's newsletter.
Meteoric!
Bob from Astronomy to Go came crashing in with his collection of found objects from the sky. Bob has a great personality and love for astronomy. The upper and lower camps were enthralled by his stories and knowledge. Later on, Bob brought out his telescopes for the tribe to safely view the sun's solar flares.
Everything is Art!Brittany has done an amazing job with Arts and Crafts this year!. She has been a counselor with us for many years and always helped create superior pottery work at the camp. This year she is in charge of the whole enchilada! Brittany, with lots of help from Livia, has brought a new enthusiasm to the art pad and the work has impressed everyone. Great work Britt!
Science! There's something bubbling at camp. Judy started a new science program this summer and the kids really love it. She has made learning as easy as a swim in the pool on a summer day. Keep an eye out for more explosive news.
You Are So Dramatic!
Barry Moore and our Drama Camp has come back for another successful run at Creek Run. Barry is so talented and the kids are drawn to his kindness and positive attitude about the world. The Upper campers spent the week with him learning about all aspects of the performing arts and created a show for our camp that the kids wrote and directed themselves. The kids looked so confident and it was obvious that they had a great time!
Cracking Eggs!
We had twelve guests this week at Creek Run. They slept over in the EcoCenter and had very particular needs for their sleeping accomodations. Keara and Dani and all the rest of the camp actually had to turn them over quite frequently during the day. Our guests were baby chicks that will hopefully hatch next week. Quiver Farms delivered the eggs and the incubator and explained the project to our campers. We'll show you pictures of our new fuzzy campers next week!
Spirit!
Iosca and their talented counselors Cristin and Lynn were asked to represent the spirit of camp for the fifth week by holding the coveted Spirit Stick. The Ioscas challenged the Wanaques to a cheer-off in front of the whole camp! It was brilliant and showed what a little spirit can do for the whole Creek Run Tribe!
