Hello Creek Run Tribe!

Hello parents and campers! Welcome to the third edition of the 2007 on-line Trail Talk,
Camp Creek Run's newsletter.

Wow! What an amazing week at Creek Run! The weather has been excellent and the kids have been even better. Remember parents, send a water bottle that your camper can fill and re-fill during the day. Also, apply sunblock to your kids before they leave each morning - cloudy or sunny! Our counselors will remind them (and help) to re-apply, but your camper will be better protected if they start out each day with it already on.

Hallow There!

Our annual Halloween in July was an outrageous success this week. The whole Creek Run Tribe participated and made it a week to remember. Led by our fearless arts and crafts supervisor Brittany, the kids looked crazy, scary, cute, and strange. All costumes were created here at camp with villages working together to show their spirit. We recycled many a box, can, and soda bottle. Cardboard was strewn all over the place to construct the works of art. As we always say to our campers, the fun is in creating things together as a group. Our parade was a blast but it was the days leading up to the big day when we worked together that will made everything worthwhile. Thanks everyone for the hard work!

Team Building!

Here at Creek Run, most of our activities bring young people together to work on positive projects and events. This summer though, we are going even further. Ramapo counselor Adam K. is leading some extra activities with our lower and upper camp that we hope will remind them how much everyone needs a friend and someone to rely on. Adam is a physical eduction teacher who specializes in team building activities - including ropes courses. Creek Run is in the process of erecting our own ropes course that Adam will help our kids navigate. We'll keep everyone informed as we proceed with our big plans for the course.

Got a Big Cow?

PennMaid Dairy stopped by with Queeny the Cow to talk about the positive effects of calcium in our diets. The lower camp enjoyed the presentation and everyone was given a sample of cheese from Queeny.

Splish Splash!

Many parents send their campers to Creek Run for our excellent swimming program. Our lifeguards are having another great summer leading our villages with their lessons and keeping everyone safe. Howie and all the gang help everywhere including judging costumes and cheers. Thanks guys!

Spirit!

Winbeam and their talented counselors Meg and Erin were asked to represent the spirit of camp for the first week by holding the coveted Spirit Stick. The Winbeams had an awesome week and had some of the best costumes for our parade! Everyone was involved and the group is having a great time. They set an example for us all!
