Hello Creek Run Tribe!

Hello parents and campers! Welcome to the first edition of the 2007 on-line Trail Talk,
Camp Creek Run's newsletter.

We would like to thank all of our campers, parents, and staff for all the support over the years. Creek Run has become one of the premier camps in the area because of all of you and we couldn't do it without you. We are looking at a very busy summer ahead of us and it is great to get back in the saddle. So get your camp legs ready! Here we go!!

The Essentials!

All campers should be prepared for the weather. That means keep an eye on the forecast the night before. It can be very cool in the morning and it can humid in the afternoon. Even though we always say it never rains at camp... it can be wet. So, wear appropriate footwear. Also, bring a water bottle and sunblock everyday. Whether there's a cloud in the sky or not, it's always best to play it safe by protecting your skin from the sun. Also, sitting in school all year does not prepare you for 8 weeks of non-stop fun at Camp Creek Run. Hydrating yourself will help you feel strong all day from swim lessons to archery. Oh... you're going to need your sleep, too.

Cheer Up!

All of our villages created village cheers and flags. There's nothing that brings a group of young people together than screaming at the top of their lungs in unison. Everyone did a spectacular job and it all concluded with our first cheer parade on Thursday.

The Active Life!

We have some great new talented staff this year. And with the new faces come new activities for our upper camp. We have added new ball game activities, ping-pong, yoga, color guard, and some science experiments. Encourage your campers to get in on the fun and try something new this summer.

HIIYAAHH Doing !

AmeriKick visited us this week and worked out with our Mahwahs. The instructors are fantastic and are teaching our campers the disciplines of the martial arts. Each week the studio will focus on one village. If you would like any info on AmeriKick we will be sending home brochures with the campers.

SSSooo Interesting !

Bryan from Snakes and Scales brought some of his friends on Friday as the kids looked on with excitement. The campers had lots of questions for Bryan as he displayed everything from an alligator to a huge python. We had to keep some of the counselors from running for the hills.

Spirit!

Iawanda and their talented counselors Adam W. and Pam were asked to represent the spirit of camp for the first week by holding the coveted Spirit Stick. They organized cheers and activities during the week and did an awesome job at showing why Camp Creek Run is so special.
